Magnolia Hotels Names VP of Acquisitions, Project Manager
Nov. 8, 2007 (DENVER)â€” Denver-based Magnolia Hotels today announced the appointment of Thomas Evans as vice president of acquisitions and Tarah Harpstreith as project manager. Harpstreithâ€™s position is effective immediately, and Evansâ€™ is effective Dec. 3.
Evans will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of new hotel acquisitions. A seasoned hospitality real estate investment professional, Evans previously served as principal of Flatiron Hospitality Real Estate Advisors in Denver, where he worked with hotel owners and developers on business and capital planning. His experience also includes serving as vice president of Stonebridge Companies in Englewood, in addition to numerous consulting positions. He is a member of the Hospitality Asset Managers Association.
Harpstreith will oversee construction and remodeling at both newly acquired Magnolia hotels and existing Magnolia hotels. She previously served as manager of business development for the Weitz Company in Denver.
Her experience also includes serving as assistant purchasing manager for Metropolitan Builders and assistant project manager for Maxwell Construction, both of Denver. Harpstreith has served as project manager and project engineer on several large-scale construction projects throughout Colorado.

Additionally, the Denver Magnolia Hotel has announced that Front Desk Agent Wendy Wachop has been selected as a recipient of the Mile High Service Excellence Award by the Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau. Also, Wendy Worley has been promoted to assistant director of sales, and Don Lindeberg has been named director of food & beverage, transferring from the Houston Magnolia Hotel.
