Magnolia Hotels Names John Remmers General Manager

Jan. 14, 2008 (HOUSTON)— Denver-based Magnolia Hotels today announced John R. Remmers has been named General Manager of the Magnolia Hotel Houston.

“We are delighted that John has joined the Magnolia Hotels team,” said Leigh Hitz, president of Magnolia Hotels. “His 20 years of hotel management experience and strong familiarity with the Houston and Texas hotel market is a tremendous asset.”

Remmers joins The Magnolia after serving since 2003 as general manager of the Hotel ZaZa in Houston, which was formerly The Warwick. Remmers’ extensive hotel leadership background includes serving as a general manager of four properties since 1998, including the Omni Jacksonville Hotel in Jacksonville, Fla., and the Dolce Lakeway Inn & Resort in Austin, Tex. His hotel management experience also includes working for luxury brands The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons. Remmers holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. He is a member of the Houston Hotel and Lodging Association.

The beautiful Houston Magnolia Hotel opened in 2003 in Houston's most renowned downtown structure, the former Post Dispatch building.
