Magnolia Hotel Denver Hires New Director of Business Development

DENVER – September 30, 2015 – Jim Finnegan, regional manager for Magnolia Hotel Denver, recently announced that Dwayne Williams has been hired as the property's new director of business development. Williams has nearly two decades of hospitality experience with upscale hotel brands such as Ritz-Carlton, Park Hyatt and Inspirato.

"The Denver hospitality market has gotten extremely competitive with new hotels and major renovations such as the one at our property," said Finnegan. "We felt it was an important strategic decision to add this new position to help elevate awareness for the property with both group and leisure visitors. Williams' background and qualifications are a great fit for the hotel as we move into the future with a newly renovated property."

Magnolia Hotel Denver is in the final stages of a multi-million dollar renovation. The hotel is adding 51 standard guest rooms by splitting some of the existing suites. The hotel was originally designed as an extended stay hotel so there are numerous large suites with full kitchens and living rooms. Since the downtown Denver market has shifted from extended stay, the property is modifying its room categories and design to reflect the demand.

In addition, one large, master Presidential Suite will be created on the 12th floor. The two-bedroom suite will be the largest on property with its own distinctive design. The suite will feature a beautiful, hand-crafted wood floor with custom wool rugs, a solid oak dining table that seats 12 with white leather chairs, a fireplace, two full bathrooms, a marble kitchen and expansive views of the surrounding area. When the renovation is completed, Magnolia Hotel Denver will offer 297 rooms – three new boardroom suites, a Presidential Suite, 196 king guestrooms, 44 rooms with two queen beds and 53 suites, 24 of which have fireplaces.

Williams' will be responsible for leading the charge in finding new and creative business opportunities to fill the newly renovated property. He started his career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company working in resort markets such as St. Thomas, Aspen and Beaver Creek, Colo. He's also honed his skills in larger city properties in markets such as Washington, D.C. in both operations and sales roles. He recently returned to Colorado to oversee concierge services, housekeeping, and maintenance and budget operations for a portfolio of vacation homes.

Magnolia Hotel Denver is located in what was formerly the American National Bank Building. The property was originally restored to reflect its original appearance with terra cotta details and a replicated corner clock adorns this 13-story landmark edifice built in 1910. The hotel, which opened in 1995, is located in the heart of downtown Denver with easy access to the Colorado Convention Center, Pepsi Center, Coors Field, shopping and entertainment along the 16th Street Mall, as well as many other local attractions and businesses.

Magnolia Hotel Denver is managed by Stout Street Hospitality, a privately held hotel management and development company, which operates upscale boutique hotels catering to the sophisticated traveler. The Denver-based company focuses on development, management, acquisition, re-branding, new construction, and conversion of existing independent hotel properties. The core product line consists of award-winning, independent boutique hotels under the Magnolia brand that offer a style unlike that of trendy or branded hotels. The company currently operates Magnolia hotels in Denver, Dallas (Downtown and Park Cities), Houston, Omaha, Neb.; St. Louis; and a ski resort, The Winter Park Mountain Lodge in Winter Park, Colo.
