History
The Magnolia Hotel Houston is housed in the historic former Post Dispatch Building. The 254,000 square-foot, 22-story building was built in 1926 and hailed as one of the most impressive office buildings in the state. The boutique hotel in Houston opened in March 2003 after a full renovation, re-establishing the property as one of the area's most distinctive structures. In 2009, the hotel was renovated to offer all new common areas, a new lounge, newly designed ballroom, and executive suites on the 22nd floor.
A highlight of the 2009 renovation is the Ross Sterling Presidential Suite: a luxurious suite on the hotel's Penthouse floor that has accommodated numerous celebrities. The Ross Sterling suite features a grand dining room with a black and white checkerboard floor and a modern stainless and granite kitchen; a classy lounge with mod seating arrangements, flat-screen TVs and one-of-a-kind accessories and décor; and, a plush bedroom with enhanced bedding package and private bathroom. This boutique hotel suite also has the option of adding a second adjoining bedroom for guests who desire more space.
